CAMPUS LIFE GOLD COUNTRY one student at a time
Our young people of Placer and Nevada Counties are faced with a battle everyday that many of us can’t imagine facing at their age. Drugs, alcohol, depression, cutting, pornography, addictions, pregnancy, and suicide are a few of these realities. As a result students respond in violent ways and campuses are plagued with fear and anger instead of an excitement for learning and the innocence of youth.
In a recent report to the Nation from the Commission on Children at Risk (Institute for American Values), the scientific evidence has proven that the way to end this battle is through Authoritative Communities. An Authoritative Community provides a safe place for adolescents to transition to adulthood through healthy peer relationships, positive activities, and community service. Campus Life meets the ten characteristics of the Authoritative Community by providing caring adults that provide healthy relationships and experiences.
